Committing to mental game improvement is critical to on-ice success. Do you find your player performs better in practices than in games? Does it seem like they just don't quite step up to their full potential? Then this program is perfect for that player who has all the skills, attends the camps and clinics, and rarely misses a practice. Our program will apply the skills they already know and build on improving the mental game.

Connecting skills with big picture ice awareness improves hockey IQ, and hockey IQ is built through off-ice mental stamina. Through our mental game training program, your player will work on strategies to connect the skills they learn in practice, with real game scenarios.

Hockey is more than just the technical skills that are mastered in practice and games. More often than not the lack of application isn't a technical deficit, rather a confidence skill that needs to be fine tuned. By focusing on the mental game as much as the technical game, your player will find themselves playing with greater awareness and mental stamina. Hockey is a fast paced game that must be played beyond the moment in time. Working on awareness mental game improvements helps increase hockey IQ as well.

Hockey Player

aboutYHMGT

As a hockey mom for over 5 years and a billet mom to AAA 18U players, I have picked up quite a few things about helping hockey players be their best.

One thing I've noticed over my time in the hockey community is there is an abundance of skills development, on-ice conditioning, camps, clinics, and specific team and skills goals for practices. I put my son in camp after camp, clinic after clinic and he still seemed to perform better in practices, no matter how many clinics and extra practices I put him in. His skills continued to improve, but his application in games wasn't. Then it dawned on me--this isn't a skills deficiency, this is a confidence thing!

As a Master Trainer and SME in leadership development and team building skills, I've spent my career and education specializing in and helping others become more confident in their own skills. While I currently focus on leadership consulting with private businesses and local universities in my day job, my career started out working with Preschool-High School students where I worked for over 5 years. My focus was facilitating life skills training for classrooms and working with at-risk kids in small group settings. We covered topics like risk reduction, effective communication, goal setting, time management, decision making, the power of positive thinking, and emotional awareness and control.

It was this experience where I fell in love with facilitating life skills and helping others be the best version of themselves. If you find that your player seems to perform better in practices no matter how many camps or clinics you put them in, consider reaching out to set up some time to discuss GLUTRECK's Youth Hockey Mental Game Training (YHMGT).

Keeping them on the ice is critical to skills mastery, providing opportunities and space for application of mental awareness and game preparedness is essential for whole-player success!
